All three of these novels were strong contenders. My personal gut reaction was with the novel When the Ground is Hard, but then I decided to vote for  Clap When You Land. Now that I am thinking about them, I find I remember such powerful moments from When the Ground is Hard, and the realization of the precarious situations women experience. But to be honest, my memory of Clap is a bit hazy. So it probably has that bit of predictability to it.  Oh dear. I made my choice though!

  1. There's still time, Shelley! Change your vote! I too feel the longterm embrace of those powerful moments in When the Ground is Hard. I think it will stick with us for a while!
