Are you Kidding Me?

When I got the email this morning that Night Gardener was moving on past I'll Give You the Sun - I was absolutely stunned.  Night Gardener was a good book but for me, not even comparable.  So...I got online to "lay some smack" and there is only a single post about this battle and the post is pro - I'll Give You the Sun...and overwhelmingly.

SO...if you are moving Night Gardener on - you have some 'espaining to do.  Get posting so I can figure out what the heck is going on in the world.

  1. I AGREE. I was so shocked that I gasped audibly, disturbing my class while they were working quietly. (No, I'm serious. QUIETLY. The first time this year). But then I got to tell them about all these great books, and it was worth it.

But back to the point, I'll Give You the Sun is clearly the best, and I'm confident that it will rise again in zombie form and win the whole thing. You heard it here first, folks.

  2. Like Westminster, most ABM staff liked both books. Hopefully Lisa and Arlene and maybe later Andrew can tell you why they voted NG. I could have gone either way. Both books were good both books had flaws. What pushed it for me? More of my junior high kids could get into Night Gardener and it makes one heck of a read aloud! Plus I like a little dust up....not gonna lie!

  3. True about the Night Gardener - I liked it too, don't get me wrong. In fact, we've just ordered 35 copies for our library here at TDB!

But speaking of dust-up, Dia, I think we may have to have it out over Midwinterblood... >:(
