Although we liked Nazi Hunters and I'll Give You the Sun, The
Night Gardener will have more of a mass appeal to the students we
teach. We were more engaged with the characters in The Night Gardener than with the other two books. The writing
in I’ll Give You the Sun was
captivating, however we really don’t believe a fourteen year old would sound
and behave like that no matter how mature and eccentric he was.
The Night Gardener gets our vote.
